Kaitlyn Harbour

Founder, trainer

As an equestrian for more than two decades, Kaitlyn draws from a long list of experiences from her journey as a competitive equestrian. Her approach blends a deep respect for proper horsemanship with a commitment to teaching not only fundamental riding skills, but also invaluable life lessons that come with working with and being immersed in the wonderful world of horses. Kaitlyn has collected many points over the years and earned the title of “Provincial Champion” in many divisions on several of her horses. She has competed in and won many Mini Prix’s, derbies, 4 bar competitions and classics up to the 1.25 level on a range of horses.

From a young age, her true passion has been for the jumper ring. She has an extensive resume with wins throughout BC and AB at venues such as Thunderbird Showpark, Milner Downs, Maple Ridge Equi-Sport Center, and Rocky Mountain Show jumping. Over the years she has been a fierce competitor earning top placings on her personal horses including homebreds that she has raised and developed under saddle as well as client horses in both the Hunter and Jumper arenas.

As a mentor and an instructor, Kaitlyn strives to create a safe environment for riders where they can grow confidently, learn discipline and leadership skills, both in and out of the saddle.

Kaitlyn continues to develop her skill set in and out of the saddle. She is currently being mentored by many top Hunter/Jumper and Dressage professionals. She enjoys attending clinics and appreciates that the sport is constantly evolving and that there is always more to learn and incorporate in to her training systems. Kaitlyn is proudly recognized by Equestrian Canada as a Registered coach in good standing.

Horses have shaped my life in powerful ways, they continue to inspire me every day – their spirit, intelligence and individuality fuel my passion and dedication to this lifestyle.

Coaching Philosophy

As an equestrian coach, I believe that great riding begins with correct foundations—for our horses and riders. I am dedicated to developing balanced, effective partnerships that prioritize physical correctness while considering bio mechanics of the horse, mental clarity of our riders, and emotional harmony between each other. I strive to instill patience, consistency, and technical precision in every rider, ensuring they understand not only how to ride, but why we ride the way we do, and how it influences the horse.

I coach with passion. I aim to inspire riders not just to succeed competitively, but to develop a lifelong love for learning and growing within the sport. Whether working with beginners or advanced athletes, I bring energy, empathy, and a clear voice—guiding, challenging, and celebrating every step of the journey.

I am invested in the future of our equestrian sport and the culture we are shaping. My role as a coach is not just to teach technique, but to model integrity, kindness, and resilience. In doing so, I hope to foster a long-term community that values not just winning, but doing things the right way—with honesty, with heart, and always in partnership with our horses!

I care deeply about the heart of our program, which is our beloved horses. I believe that they should all receive premium feeds, care and appropriate work out routines. They each get to spend time individually and in a herd, with 24/7 access to space and turn out. Naturally-managed horses, in my experience, tend to love having their jobs, and truly have a well balanced lifestyle.

We are so grateful for our wonderful team of veterinarians, farriers, body workers, saddle fitters and nutritionists that help us keep our horses well cared for and happy. It is truly a team effort!
